Top Story: KFC – Earnings outlook not dampened by gloomy economic conditions Outperform

Visit Note

¨ Management estimates that for KFCH’s Indian operations to breakeven, it would need approximately 30-35 outlets, which we believe would be achieved by mid- to end-2013. KFCH currently has 10 outlets in India, which is expected to grow to 15-17 outlets by end FY11, in line with our estimates. KFCH is targeting to have 25 stores in India by end-2012, which means 8-10 more new outlets to be opened in 2012.

KFC: India on track Market Perform

Visit Note

¨ KFCH currently has nine outlets in India , with 3-4 more outlets currently in the advanced stages of construction. It targets to have 17 outlets by the end of the year, which is broadly in line with our assumptions of 16 stores by end-FY11.

¨ KFCH College currently has two campuses, with the first campus in Puchong, while a new campus in Bandar Dato’ Onn, Johor, was launched in April. The Johor campus is only at its first phase, which has a total capacity of 2,000 students and currently has ~400 students enrolled. There will be two more phases of construction for its Johor campus, which are expected to be completed by 2015, which will bring total intake capacity to 12,000 students p.a..

Quill Capita Trust: DPU on track to meet forecast Market Perform

2QFY11 Results

¨ Quill Capita’s (QC) 2Q11 realised net income of RM9.2m came in within our expectation but was 7.1% below consensus estimates. Sequential gross revenue growth was rather flattish at only +0.6%, but bottom-line improved significantly largely due to lower operating expenses incurred during the quarter. An interim DPU of 4 sen was declared, as compared to 3.85 sen last year. This is on track to meet our FY11 DPU forecast of 8.4 sen.

The proposal involves: 1) share swap of Sapuracrest and Kencana shares into new IKSB shares; and 2) cash payments. The offer is open until 15 Aug.

Utilities: No immediate catalysts Neutral

¨ Despite a volatile political landscape, the Government has pressed ahead with two out of three industry reforms: 1) reduction of subsidies for natural gas; and 2) a formal fuel cost pass-through (FCPT) formula.

¨ With these factors already largely priced into TNB’s stock price, we believe the market is watching closely the trend of coal prices and the implementation of the FCPT formula.

COMPANY UPDATE
KNM Group RM1.90: Hold
Brace for further headwinds Shariah-compliant

Cut forecasts, downgrade to Hold. Our initial forecasts are too optimistic and management is guiding for lower profits as earnings could remain weak over the next few quarters. This is disappointing for we had expected earnings to rebound on the new orders secured in the past 12 months. The financing for the Peterborough project is still unresolved. We lower our target price to RM2.00 based on reduced PE multiple target of 10x (previously 14x) as we also cut earnings forecasts.

Petronas Chemicals RM7.06: Buy
Missed the first party, but there is another one coming Shariah-compliant

Power tariff hike impact negligible. We have imputed the impact of the electricity tariff hike by Tenaga Nasional which is rather negligible at only ±RM20m p.a. This does not change the Company fundamentals at all and we remain bullish with the high product prices and strong demand. Our concern lies with the uncertainty of gas supply due to the on-going maintenance work from its supplier. We rollover valuations to 2012 earnings and maintain BUY with a higher TP of RM8.15 (+2%), based on 13.5x PER - in line with industry's historical average PER.

ECONOMICS
Economic Transformation Programme (ETP)
Update #6…

PM announced additional 15 projects, initiatives and enablers in the sixth ETP update, involving RM63.38b investments under 11 Entry Point Projects (EPPs) in seven National Key Economic Areas (NKEAs) that will generate RM66.31b in gross national income (GNI) and create 63,531 new jobs. The biggest project is the RM60b Refinery And Petrochemical Integrated Development (RAPID) in Pengerang, Johor. So far, execution of ETP has seen confirmation of 65 EPPs (49.6% of the targeted 131) under 11 NKEAs with investment value of RM169.78b (21.4% of the targeted RM794.5b EPP investments) that are expected to raise RM220.15b in GNI (49.6% of the targeted RM1.1tr) and create 362,396 jobs (11% of the targeted 3.3m). ETP rollout is having visible positive impact on actual investment as per the data on business loans growth, PDS issuance and FDI int he first three to four months of 2011.

Technicals
The FBM KLCI fell 10.31 points and ended at 1,545.88 yesterday. Its resistance areas of 1,545 and 1,565 will cap market gains, whilst the weaker support areas are located at 1,527 and 1,540. Due to the world markets' quiet tone last night, we will see some boring and low volume-trading activities in the local bourse today. We expect the FBM KLCI to remain benign today, as the local market could remain lacklustre.

Trading Idea for today is a Take Profit call on MPHB

Market Focus
IM New York: On the passage of transformation

Positive note. Prime Minister (PM) Najib sent a strong message on the government's determination for a high income economy by 2020 in his address to fund managers and investors at Invest Malaysia (IM) New York last week (17 May). The event, held for the first time at the New York Stock Exchange, saw a turnout of about 350 people. Present as well were 10 top Malaysian corporates comprising Maybank, AirAsia, Axiata, Bursa Malaysia, CIMB, Genting, Kencana Petroleum, Petronas Chemicals, SapuraCrest Petroleum and Sime Darby.

RESULTS REVIEW
RHB Capital RM9.24: Buy
Looking for a strategic partner Shariah-compliant

Buy maintained. For much of the uncertainty earlier this year caused by management changes, the new team appears to be settling in quite well and business is as usual at RHB Capital. Our forecasts are maintained and valuations are still decent, in our view, with the stock trading at a prospective 2011 P/BV of 1.8x and 2012 PER of just 10.9x.

Lafarge Malayan Cement RM7.47: Buy
Looking forward to demand rebound Shariah-compliant

Below expectations. 1Q11 net profit of RM52m (+8% YoY, -36% QoQ) was just 14% of our full-year forecast and 13% of consensus. However, we maintain our forecasts as we expect earnings in the sequential quarters to improve substantially on higher cement ASP (raised on 1 Apr) and a pickup in demand. Currently trading at 15x 2012 PER, there is still upside potential as LMC had traded up to 17x in the 2007 peak cycle. Maintain Buy and TP of RM8.50 (17x 2012 PER).

KFC Holdings RM3.85: Hold
On track Shariah-compliant

Results in line. KFC's RM36m 1Q11 net profit (+5.5% YoY; -25.8% QoQ) is in line, accounting for 21% of our and consensus full-year forecasts. We maintain our 2011 net profit forecast of RM172m given the fact that 1Q is seasonally weaker. Non-restaurant divisions again did not perform as expected, with its ancillary division making a pretax loss. We maintain our Hold call and target price of RM3.97.

MBM Resources RM2.97: Hold
Weakness ahead; downgrade to Hold Shariah-compliant

In line but weakness ahead. 1Q11 net profit of RM38m (+36% QoQ; -4% YoY) is within expectations, accounting for 25% of our initial full-year forecast of RM151m. With the next 9-month earnings poised to soften owing to the supply chain disruption from the Japan earthquake and tsunami, we have cut our 2011 earnings forecast by 17% and tactically lowered our target price to RM3.10. Share price is unlikely to perform until the supply chain flow returns to normalcy.

Technicals
The FBM KLCI rebounded 3.14 points to close at 1,532.12 yesterday. Its resistance areas of 1,532 and 1,550 will cap market gains, whilst the obvious support areas are located at 1,511 and 1,530.Due to the DJIA’s weaker tone last night, we will see some benign trading activities today.

Trading idea is a Take Profit call on MISC.

COMPANY UPDATE
Media Prima RM2.61: Buy
The going is still good Shariah-compliant

Still a believer. After seeing a respectable 1Q11 industry gross adex growth of 13% YoY and speaking to media buyers, we opine that we have been too conservative with our adex growth assumptions. We raise our earnings estimates for Media Prima (MPR) by 13% to 23% p.a., after revisiting our assumptions. In our view, concerns on the impact of digitalisation are premature. Maintain Buy. Target price is raised to RM3.06 on an unchanged 17x 1-year forward PER post-earnings upgrade.

WCT RM3.04: Buy
Earnings delivery in 2011 Shariah-compliant

Maintain Buy. We retain our earnings forecasts for WCT post analyst briefing on its 3Q10 results. Indications are that 2011 will be a good year in terms of earnings delivery - we forecast a 34% growth in net profit. We are also optimistic on job win momentum flowing into 2011, being the first year of the 10th Malaysia Plan implementation. Our target price pegs the stock to 15x 2011 earnings plus a 20sen increment from the new KLIA2 retail concession which will be inked this month-end.

RESULTS REVIEW
Tan Chong Motor Holdings RM5.62: Sell
Needs to unlock value regionally Shariah-compliant

As anticipated, 3Q results were sequentially weak. With most of the positives priced in, TCM's valuations are no longer cheap vis-a-vis its peers. With no near-term catalyst in sight, TCM is unlikely to excite and should underperform relative to market. Reiterate Sell with a RM5.00 target price, which is based on 12x 2011 EPS.

RCE Capital RM0.625: Buy
Surprises on the upside

Beats expectations. 1HFY11 RM55m net profit (+47% YoY) made up 56% of house RM98m FY11 forecast and 60% of street RM91m. Loan impairment loss was lower than expected. We raise our FY11 net profit forecast by 11% and FY12-13 by 5-7% p.a. Our new TP is RM1.10 (+8%) based on 7x 2011 PER (unchanged) and the market value of its investment in AmFirst REIT (35m units). For its strong delivery track record and growth potential, valuations are low at 4.2x earnings. Buy.

Technicals
The FBM KLCI rose 9.40-points last week. The obvious support areas for the FBM KLCI are located in the 1,462 to 1,500-zone. The key resistance areas of 1,507 and 1,531 will cap any rebound activity.

Trading idea for today is a SHORT TERM BUY call on KIANJOO.

SECTOR UPDATE
Plantations: Neutral
The final leg

Pricing in RM3,000/t. We believe plantation big caps could trend higher in the coming months, as: 1) the US Dollar is expected to stay weak throughout 1H 2011 and, 2) commodity and equity prices continue to rally due to increased liquidity. Plantation big caps could potentially price in a long-term CPO average of RM3,000/t, in our view. We raise our 2011-12 average CPO price forecast to RM3,000/t from RM2,600/t and upgrade Sime Darby to a Buy.

ACQUISITIONS / DISPOSAL
PLUS Expressways RM4.40: Accept offer
Shareholders to vote Shariah-compliant

Accept the offer. PLUS' board of directors have accepted UEM-EPF's offer at an unchanged RM23b offer price. We reiterate that it is fair offer price, at 2% below our RM4.70 DCF-based target price. In a revised offer letter yesterday, UEM-EPF allows PLUS to evaluate competing offers, if any. The next milestone is PLUS' shareholders go-ahead. Nonetheless, the timeline for deal completion, which could take up to a year, could be daunting. Amid a liquidity driven market, shareholders could derive better returns by selling the shares now, than to wait.

COMPANY UPDATE
IJM Corporation RM5.54: Buy
New job win Shariah-compliant

Target price under review. IJM's outstanding order book is sustained at RM3.6b with the new National Cancer Institute job win. We estimate a 1sen EPS contribution over three years into FY14. No change to our earnings forecasts. Share price has performed well exceeding our RM5.50 RNAV-based target price on expectations of rising news flow in construction and runaway CPO prices. Our target price is under review.

RESULTS REVIEW
Hartalega Holdings RM5.53: Hold

Results in line. 6MFY11 net profit of RM89m (+49% YoY) made up 51% of our and consensus full-year forecasts. 2QFY11 net profit (+14% QoQ) was impressive considering its latex-focused peers (Top Glove and Supermax) posted QoQ contractions of 17-30% in their respective Aug/Sept-ended quarter. However, we are maintaining our Hold rating (TP: RM5.40) as the sector lacks re-rating catalysts and Hartalega's share price has outperformed its peers by 25% since Jul '10.

Technicals

Sunrise RM2.52: Accept offer
Cheaper entry to UEM Land Shariah-compliant

Take up the offer. We view UEM Land's (UEML) conditional takeover offer (CTO) for Sunrise shares positively as the price offered is fair. We advise Sunrise shareholders to take up the share swap instead of the redeemable convertible preference shares (RCPS) option. The enlarged UEML will offer an exposure into the largest property developer in Malaysia. Based on 20sen net DPS declared by Sunrise earlier and our estimate of RM2.15-2.20 RNAV per UEML share post-Sunrise acquisition, the deal offers a cheaper entry to UEML.

Technicals
The FBM KLCI gained 6.08-points last week as some further investor enthusiasm boosted above the 1,510-mark.The market remains strong in the weeks ahead. KFC Holding Continue North Direction?

Sunday, December 23, 2007

KFC Holding (M) Berhad already up almost 10% after my previous post from around RM6.00 to RM6.60 closed last Friday. Sure it is big money, 10% only for one week.. Anyway don't think too much on the return value. Just concentrate on your good trade, I am pretty sure you will not regret that! Here I just put the updating chart for KFC Holding.

KFC Daily Chart

KFC share price currenty just near the another trigger buy, red line. If price can go higher and can overcome RM6.65 support with bigger volume from previous trading session, I am sure the price will go more than RM7.00. If you see the RSI 14 also at the moment near the bullish area which more than 50 will consider in bullish area. Anyway, lock your profit if you are position in this trade. Just beware that last trading day showing volume slightly decrease from previous last session trading day. Good luck and happy trading!

Update on KFC Share Price

Wednesday, December 19, 2007

I got clue that KFC selling down recently due to bird flu crisis in Thailand. As I promised earlier to update on this KFC stock price, the price turn upward even the KLSE index average down this 3 days. My comment on selling mode a few weeks and end with big volume showing that the support level is strong. Buyers are supporting the stock at level which sellers unload their position. Volume spikes on last 3 days trading session near the support level leads the reversal meaning drying up of the selling pressure. Volume increasing 3 days in row showing the accumulation and the price bounce slightly upward. 25sen from current support. The RSI 14 days turn upward and just move out from the oversold area.

KFC Holding Daily Chart

Enough to make money? Mmmm... Anyway, just to remind that the resistance is just near there RM6.35 to RM6.40 which usually the first target stock disposal. Keep your profit and tight your stop loss. Happy learning and happy trading!
